Welcome to a new semester studying the old, folks! This is a repeat of an earlier, how-to-use-the-blog post.
Everyone who was at the class today should be sent an invitation as an author to this blog. Blogspot is affiliated with google, so if you have a google account you can use it to log in. Otherwise, you will be asked to make a new account (google accounts are really handy anyway.) Once you have an account set up, you can write your own posts on the blog.
Anyone with a google account can sign in to leave comments - you don't have to be invited as an author. In order to leave a comment, just click on the link at the lower right corner of the post. This link should say "0 comments", or will list how many comments have been left on that post. You can also view the comments folks have left on the post here.
I have an idea of how we should use the blog this semester, but we can change this to however we feel it is most helpful. Each discussion leader should post a brief summary of their chapter and articles, and maybe give us an idea of how they see the discussion going. Before we come to class, each person should leave a comment or question they want to talk about in the discussion. We can therefore use the blog to begin discussions, and also to continue them after class. Additionally, if anyone in the class finds outside information they want to bring in, or has another issue they want to bring up, that person could write their own post.
So, here's our first assignment: When you've made your username and are ready to post on the blog, leave a comment on this post. Hope to hear from you all soon!
