Hominin Life History Reconstruction
Hello all,
Please make sure you understand the differences between the following:
1. direct vs. indirect methods of reconstructing life history
2. life history variables (LHV) vs. life history related variables (LHRV)
Also... just something to ponder:
"Life history is an important component of the shared adaptive mix that justifies grouping taxa into genera." (p. 417)
Is it true that life history variables "justify" grouping organisms together in genera? If so, is this true for all organisms, or specific to primates? Are there circumstances that create varied life histories within genera?
