Life History Reconstruction

Heres a few questions/ideas to bat around:

from Erickson et al. 2001:

p430: Dinosaurs had growth rates similar to whales- how do you think living in an aquatic environment compared to a terrestrial environment would affect growth rates?

How would environmental factors influence growth rates? (i.e. temperature, oxygen concentration, resource availability)

How would diet influence growth rates? (i.e. herbovires vs. carnivores)

p432 Graph comparing growth rates across taxa. Is this a valid way to present this data?

What other assumptions have been made in this paper that may or may not be valid? (ie some graphs on p431 assume determinant growth)

The represented dinousaur species occured from the early Jurassic to the late Cretaceous, how might that effect the analysis?

from Lee and Werning 2008:

Why are they making the argument that dinosaurs did not have growth rates similar to scaled-up reptiles?
